    Hi all,

So, I've got an M1730 with red side blades (didn't get an option at the time - it was on discount). Only... they're red. And I've got some nice shiny grey ones to replace them with now. The question is, HOW?

I've never had a problem dismantling Dell laptop screens before, but this one seems a bit different. I've got the usual guard off from across the top of the keyboard, and the two screws from under the stick-on covers at the base of the screen. Can't find any more screws... so does anybody know where around the screen edge the clasps are located to hold the two bits of screen together? Are there only these clasps? Are they on the inside/outsite of the bezel?

    Cheers all!

Surf on over to the Dell website and look for the service manual.

They're probably under some rubber pads.

the inside trim bezel just unsnaps once you remove those 2 screws be VERY CAREFUL the inside bezel cracks very easy. i recc use of a old credit card to slide between the 2 pieces it is difficult at first but once you start it it comes off easy. any other questions lmk ive done this around 20+ times now
