That monster must have burned a hole in your pocket for those specs. Great laptop though.

Burned a hole in both of them... Just under $4800 I dropped on this beast. What can I say, I like fast computers and I game alot. To have a top end system like this and be portable, it's gonna cost ya

WOW. I actually wanted the 1730 but I travel too much and that would not be practical for me. Have you tried the 3d06 after you o/c the processor?

Actually, I forgot to mention that I did bump it up to 3.0Ghz before I ran 3D Mark... Going through and letting it update everything now (Usual stuff). My temps were idling around 40c according to core temp 0.96 which isn't too bad. I post more info as I test different things. So far I have been very impressed

Actually...LOL...this is my second XPS. The first one I got had two 8700 cards in it, and I didnt like it at all. Had alot of graphic glitches within windows itself, so I decided to send it back and go with these 8800 cards. Total time from order to delivery was around 3 weeks. The ETA was 2-26-08, so I got it a little sooner than I expected. ;)

BTW: Those 8700 cards running the same settings in 3D Mark 06 barely hit 5,000, so there is definitely a huge difference between the 2 cards.

I'd say there was something wrong with one or both of those cards. You can 5,000 on one 8600GT without much effort.

Yeah that sounds awful low. 3 weeks is a lot...Id rather order from outlet and get it tomorrow.

Kudos on that beast my friend.

I wonder how well a laptop with those specs will run Crysis...

That will be interesting to seee.

A little flaw that is kinda buggin me with this laptop is at the top of the monitor there is like an 8th of an inch of raw monitor showing, like the finished edge of the case doesn't cover the top of the monitor. It's nothing major but little things like that catch my eye and distract me...
