My M1730 has just started having this problem with the resolution where when I boot the system using the battery, the resolution resets to 640 x 480 instead of the usual 1280 x 854. It only happens when using the battery and if I shut down the system, plug in the AC Adapter and restart it, the resolution returns to the correct setting. I can then unplug the AC Adapter and run it on the battery as usual, but if I shut down and restart with the battery, the resolution resets back to 640 x 480 again. As long as I have the AC Adapter plugged in, there aren't any problems.

The battery is at 98% full capacity and charges as it should but I'm wondering if I need to replace it or if something else could be causing the issue. I've searched numerous web pages for an answer but haven't been able to find one, so I signed up here.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

EDIT: Nevermind. I resolved the issue by installing an older video driver. Now everything appears to be working as it should.
