Hi, Bear with me as I try to sort some things out. Currently I have a M1730 with These Specs.

OS- Win 7 Home prem. X64
    Ram 4 GB
    CPU- Intel Core2Duo T9500 @2.6GHz
GPU- Nvidia 9800M GT x2, Sli.

I am wondering how well it would run Battlefield bad company 2 with high-max settings @ 1920x1200. Here are the Specs, just released today.

Minimum Frostbite PC Specifications for BFBC2 & BF1943
    Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
    Main memory: 2GB
Graphics card: GeForce 7800 GT / ATI X1900
    Graphics memory: 256MB
    OS: Windows XP
Free HDD space: 15GB for Digital Version, 10GB for Disc Version (BFBC2)
10GB for Digital Version, 4GB for Disc Version (BF1943)

Recommended Frostbite PC Specifications for BFBC2 & BF1943
    Processor: Quadcore
    Main memory: 2GB
    Graphics card: GeForce GTX 260
    Graphics memory: 512MB
OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Free HDD space: 15GB for Digital Version, 10GB for Disc Version (BFBC2)

I know all we can do is speculate at the moment, but I have no Idea how my specs compare to those in the requirements. Aside from the ram lol, I can tell I should be fine in that regard.

My other question, is it possible to upgrade my processor to the best available (the x9000 i believe)? And if it is, how much of a performance boost is it really? Is it worth it?

Sorry for my Ineptitude, but I'm really not too versed in the latest cards and processors. Nor have I ever thought about upgrading one of my machines until now. Thanks for any help. :)

If you upgrade to the X9000 you will gain some performance but that's all you can do. You could upgrade your RAM memory to 6 or 8GB but that's useless. Also there is 9800M GTX SLI for M1730 wich will provide 5-10% more performante than your current card... but you can't really find this card and isn't cheap. The cpu upgrade would be the best, you will have 0.8GHz improvement, as the X9000 is overclockable from BIOS to 3.4GHz.

Yea, I'm not really interested in upgrading the gpu. Any idea on what would be the best place to find a x9000?

And does anyone have any idea on how my current set up would BC2?

I have an X9000 with 6GB of ram and the 9800m gt's but i don't think it will run this game very well, hence i am thinking of selling it to get a proper desktop gaming rig.

Why won't it run this game? Isn't bad company a console port?
