    Hi all

I will be reinstalling Vista Ultimate 32 bit when I receive my laptop. I know you need to install 3rd party RAID drivers before the installation - how do i do this? Ar ethe drivers on the Dell CD and I just copy them to a USB Memory stick??

    Thanks

Vista Makes it nice. Put them on a flash drive, but extract them and stick them in a basic folder. Start the Vista setup cd, and then when it asked if you need to load other drivers, click that tab/button and point it to that dir.

I have an XPSm1730 with XP - I managed to reinstall on a RAID configuration with the Dell XP install disk, no extra work required (fortunately, as there is no floppy drive to install the RAID drivers during an XP install).

A couple of tips: I couldn't find the XPS wallpaper on my install disks - make a backup copy if you want to keep it. After installing Windows drivers etc., I tried the Dell MediaDirect CD, and discovered it needed to be run even before the Windows install to prepare partitions on the hard drive - I had to start over to get MediaDirect installed.
