First timer poster so please be gentle..

Yesterday whilst gaming my machine shut itself down stone dead.. no warning no funny noise's no smell of overheating etc..

I unplugged the power supply & tried to bring it back to life on battery power...nothing.

When I plug the power cable in & connect it to the machine the blue light goes off maybe half a second later, still with no sign of it booting up.

I wondered if I had loosened the power connector at the back as I don't normally play on a flat surface... (cushion on lap to save testicles frying)

Does anyone have an inkling what may be up ?

    Many thanks

The number one classic way to fix any and all laptops where this happens, mark my words because it will probably work.

    Remove the A/C Plug.
    Remove your battery.
Hold your power button down for 10-15 seconds.

    Put the battery back in.
    Plug your A/C back in.

    Fire it up.

hahaha I KNEW IT Can you please rep me? :p

Here it is. I used to work IT Helpdesk at a big 5 accounting firm. This fixed the problem 95% of the time.

I think it has to do with some charge in a capacitor getting stuck and stopping the power on curcuits from going off. Basically by holding down the power button you clear all the power "stuck" in those capacitors and reset the wiring. I am not an electrician and have no idea what i'm talking about but this has been a laptop issue for the past 6 years i swear. They'll never fix it. Must be something to do with the battery/A/C switching module.

Yes i have to do this with my ibm. I have to click the power button 11 times and then hold it down.
Its something to do with power surge or something.
