My M1730 has the x9000 processor, but something weird has been bugging me for quite some time already...
The cores' temperatures are unequal. For some reasons, my first core (core#0) has always had considerable lower temperature (about 6-9 celsius) than the second core (core#1). I used HWmonitor and core temp to measure, so I'm quite sure that this is accurate.
Is this normal for this processor, or is there a way to fix this? Is this the result of unequal processes that each core takes core of?![]()

It's pretty norma, you`re not the only one with this "issue". My T8300`s cores always are 3-4C different(5-8F)
-
Depends what you are doing with the machine. Some software programs are not built to take advantage of a dual core processor, and will therefore use a single core - or one core more then the other. Hence the temperature difference.
-
Oh, I see.... Thanks a lot for your answers!
-
Or it is a simple as the core itself has an uneven surface. The more hardcore overclockers use sand paper to even out the surface
-
OC It to 3.4 IN THE BIOS it will be screaming
-
Screaming fast? Yes.
But it will also keep the fans at high/max speed. -
-
Now you made me want an X9000
-
Does running this beast at 3.2 ghz make the fans automatically go crazy like they do if u run it at 3.4 ghz?? If not, then I think that option is quite interesting! -
XPS M1730's core temperature?
