Wednesday 13 May 2009: First contacted Dell - complete computer failure
    Faulty video card was diagnosed
After 4 telephone conversations and 3 emails Dell replaced with what I now discovered was a refurbished card on 18 May 2009
Friday 29 May 2009 complete computer failure again - contacted Dell again
Video card was diagnosed as failed again
After about one month from first reporting, 7 telephone conversations and 7 emails I am still awaiting
I am repeatedly being told that there is a worldwide shortage of video cards
I pay for Dell Premium Next Day Support for hardware (quite expensive)
    My home buisiness is disrupted
    What do I do?
    Can I request compenasation?

Bear in mind, all replacement parts are labeled as refurbished.

If your system is still under warranty and you have the Next Business Day coverage, then yes - you can insist on a replacement system. Since they probably don't have any more M2010 systems on hand they would end up upgrading you to a system equal to or better than your current specs.

I had a M1710 which had a dead video card (NVIDIA 7950Go GTX). The part was backordered for 30 days and they ended up sending me a M1730 when I told them the delay was unacceptable. This was almost a year ago now...

Give them a call back and explain a delay is not acceptable and you need to have this taken care of immediately. If you rather not call, use this link and reference your last case# ( https://support.dell.com/support/to...outstanding_issues?c=us&l=en&s=gen&redirect=1)

Just my 2 cents of course... ;)

They replaced my M2010 awhile back with a M1730 with 8700GT SLI in it. Not a bad swap, but the M2010 is more of a "specialty" computer, so you may not like what they replace it with if that's the route they choose.
