Hi All,
I need to send my XPS 1530 back for repairs due to a damaged lcd. The laptop is still under it's complete care warranty and was just curious what kind of turnaround time I should expect.
Note: I am in Ontario, Canada.
Thanks.

You don't have in home service? I thought all XPS systems included that.
-
Not that I am aware of. I know I got the complete care 3-year warranty but I believe I passed on the in home service.
-
Hmmm, interesting. That was the only option listed when I was looking to get mine. I really have no idea how long it will take. Transit time plus probably a day or two?

Not sure about the US but in Canada the in home service is an extra $100

Damn.. well i think you are bound to send it in then, best of luck, lets hope they take good care of your laptop ( if they don't then you can basically rain hell on dell support until they replace the damaged parts, like i did
)

i don't know about Canada, but i have had to send my machines in a few times. i have had it take a 4 days, but the advantage is about a week. once it took 6 weeks though. almost every time something else was damaged, missing or the problem wasn't fixed, so be aware

had my was go back twice now: first time was stressful as I could not get much information and wanted to know more about how it worked, where the laptop was going etc....sound familiar?
Anyways, the laptop arrived back about a week after it was sent -- the longest wait was for the box to arrive by courier that you use to send it to the repair facility in Markham -- their turn around time is pretty prompt, a couple of days the first time, next day the second.
My repaired video card/motherboard just died this weekend almost exactly 12 months from the last repair -- waiting for the box to ship is to the same guys for replacement -- 3 replacements gets you a new laptop apparently.
Hope your repairs are as prompt and as satisfactory.
