In the last few years, the XPS line got refreshed shortly after a signature event deal on dell.com. Let's see if it happens again!

I'm intrigued... Any more info on this?
I'm supposed to be ordering my laptop today (Friday) but I'm very tempted to wait based on the previous rumours... This is new info to me!

Signature event? I don't seem to see it on the dell.com website. Maybe I'm just blind, and if so, could someone post a link? Thanks!

The OP didn't actually say it was going on now, just that a refresh seems to happen after one. ;) Perhaps he is just informing us to look out for it. I dunno.

could this be it? It's from the EPP site. That's an i7 Arrandale, right?

Hmm, perhaps. Doesn't look as though it has rolled out to the home segment just yet but it will probably show up soon.

Makes sense that dell would try to liquidate its inventory before it rolled out a refresed XPS model. Seems to be a lot of folks waiting on the 5xxx series GPU.

I'm waiting to see if Dell releases a new XPS 13.

that would be wonderful :) my computer has been running pretty warm lately so i'm expecting it to go out within the next month or so like it normally does. Hopefully the new xps 13 will come ouut before it dies since dell guaranteed me that they will replace it next time it breaks.

Don't want to burst your bubble but realistically, I think we are still months away from the XPS 13 release. I was just hopin out loud.

Dell is an industry leader in "Just in Time" inventory. With JIT there is not any inventory to get rid of. Oftentimes they are receiving the components on the same day they are installing them and sending them out the shipping door.

There may be a delay, but it is not due to unloading inventory.

Why do people insist on trying to find clues that aren't there?

The EPP site has ALWAYS offered the i7 620 (arrandale). How do I know? thats where I shop and got mine. I check it frequently to see how much the price has dropped..

Move along, nothing to see here..
