Hi, Does anyone know if dell XPS Studio 13 have 9 cell battery in Australia? The guys at dell can't give me a straight answer. The website says 6 cell but having googled the laptop many are saying that it ships with 9 cell if purchased.
I am tossing between this Studio XPS 13 and XPS 1330. Studio 13 has Core 2 Duo P processors at 2.5ghz, 1056mhz fsb and 6 mb cache while XPS 1330 has the weaker T series with smaller fsb speed (800 or something I believe). Good thing about xps 1330 is that it comes in 9 cell battery. But unsure about xps studio 13.
But I heard some bad stuff about studio 13 where exhaust vent gets blocked by the screen (its located at the back)..
Kind regards,
T

I've currently have a xps m1210 with a 9 cell battery. I am going to get a studio 13 but only after windows 7 comes out and when the 8gb option isnt a grand. But I will want a studio 13 with a 9 cell. For some reason Dell Australia dont offer a 9 cell but they do exist, I checked on the Dell US website http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...etail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=312-0774 and found one so we should get the option soon, so hurry up dell Australia!

After putting in the SSD on the M1330 and using the 1340 with SSD I can honestly say that I can not tell the user experience difference between 2.5/800/32bit DDR2 and 2.66/DDR3 1033/64bit. Both are very fast and do what I need to do without hesitation.
In the year I owned my M1330 I never had a major problem - no video issues what so ever. It was a great laptop. And at 4lbs - and thin with LED.
The heat issues on the Studio XPS 13 and the blocked exhaust have been greatly exaggerated!Mine works great and the fan rarely comes on (that I can hear).
I did do a fresh reinstall due to bios not updating and web cam software issue. After that its been perfect.
Yes its warm but look at my specs - its powerfull!!
You can get a 9cell for the 1340 - they had it for 79.99 in the US but now its 179.99 - but you can always wait till a 25% off coupon posts.
So here you are with a choice - buy a great laptop (m1330) at a highly discounted and negotiable price at 4 lbs or get the latest tech at a high price that for the most part non negotiable at 5 lbs with a great back lit keyboard.
Note you can get a better black keyboard for the M1330 on ebay (vostro?)
In any event make sure you call the order in and after they give you a price - hum and hah -and ask for their number so you can call them back and hang up - they will call you back with a better offer!
If you go with the m1330 get at least 3 year warranty just in case you have an Nvidia issue.
Make sure you get the LED screen on either - they are fantastic. -
i provide a ordering service if your interested in the 9cell. ive done it for some members here who can not order the 9cell contact me for rates.
