Just a question. Do we get the same exclusive XPS service that the americans get? Because I only see one phone number on the dell canada website.

When you call that number you select the type of system you have. XPS is separate from inspiron and latitude.
Inspiron calls go to India.
Dell has recently hired around 1000 people here in Ottawa. Some exclusively for XPS support. I know this, because an acquaintance of mine works for Dell XPS support.
So I would guess that XPS users do get a different treatment than others. -
I can't seem to navigate to the one where it asks me to choose my system. My problem is described in my other thread which no one is posting at
(replacement keyboard for m1210).
-
Don't they have the number listed some where on the PC? When you call they ask for your support number.
I have spoken to a number of people from Ottawa and it is a nice change. Dell keep hiring people on the same content and I will be happy(er). -
After you've entered your express service number on the phone, they'll automatically direct you to the XPS support.
-
mmm.. you're right I was sure there's an XPS option. What you can do is call dell support and ask to talk to XPS support.
-
There is a separate number for XPS support listed here:

I get a full body massage & pedicure with each service call I place for my XPS.

theres 2 sites that handle XPS support. 1 in ottawa and 1 in philippines, always try to reach the people in ottawa. it took me 4 calls to philippines to get a dispatch setup for a 3 prong AC adapter, and next day i looked at the part ordered and it was a 2 prong, then i called again and got someone in ottawa who knew what the hell he was doing, he was able to send me the right part all in 1 call.

Good to hear that Dell is hiring more people locally for XPS support. By the way, jazzjackrabbit, did you have to tell them why you needed the 3-prong adapter or did you simply ask for it and they gave it to you?

Dell had 2 contact centres in canada, 1 in ottowa and 1 in edmonton, the edmonton 1 got shut down. lets hope the ottowa 1 doesnt get the same fate. -
There was 1 in Edmonton and it got closed down? Hmm... this is pure speculation but I think it might be due to the increase in prices (wages) in Alberta (Edmonton is Alberta's capital). My parents run a restaurant there and wages are pretty expensive there. Prices of commodities is also very high. This is all due to the Alberta oil sands, people are getting rich from extracting and selling oil. In other words, Alberta is experiencing an economic boom and Dell wanted to pull out since wages were being driven up.
Again, the above is pure speculation. Sorry for taking this topic off topic. Now back to what OP was saying! -
What's the number to call Dell XPS support ?
I can't find it on the web site.
Update: I got it, from this site
-
Any time I have called just the regular support line for my old XPS m140 I have always gotten Canadian reps.

Generally speaking, you can call any Dell support number and put in your express service code.
It is supposed to get you to the correct support group.
I would suggest using chat anyway, provided your system is working or you have another to chat with as I have had much better luck with that.

Recently, when I called for support on a Dell XPS M1330 notebook I asked where they were located (as they spoke with a very thick western accent) and they said Philippines.
A few years ago I owned a Dell XPS 700 desktop and when I called for support I was directed to a centre in Edmonton, very nice people there but unfortunately it was closed down (they also just recently closed another one in Ontario, I confirmed this with a representative who I was speaking to about the status on a machine I had ordered and they said that it was the center's last day and then it was being directed to India).
