    Hi guys,

I originally didn't get a BD-Combo drive for my XPS 1640 when I got it back in August 2009 because I didn't own a single blue ray or had any intention of getting any. Well things have changed and I'd like to use my Blu-ray disks on my laptop.

I read through a bunch of old posts and checked the Dell Drivers Page. Am I correct in Determining that these drives are compatible?
    • Panasonic UJ-235A 4x BD-Rom/2xBD-W
    • Sony/NEC BC-5600S 2x BD-Rom
Also, what is the HLDS CA10N on the Dell driver page? It says it is a 4x BD-Combo.

    Some general questions:
    • Will I notice any playback issues with a 2x Blu-ray drive compared to the 4x read speed of the Panasonic? I know loading would be slower...
    • Would installing this void my warranty? I will call Dell to confirm, but maybe someone has asked before.
    • What software do you use to play back Blu-ray disks?

    thx everyone

    I believe that's the Sony/NEC BC-5600S 2x BD-Rom.

    Thanks for the link!
