So I just found out there's a free upgrade to 9 cell battery promo going on
    dell website this morning.
I ordered my XPS1530 2 days ago and 6 cell battery was causing delay
    to ship on 7/1.
I just talked with dell CSR they replaced 6 cell battery to 9 cell battery
so the ESD is now 6/13 :)

So no LED if you were to reorder. Do you just call the standard number to get to talk about your laptop because I can barely understand the reps when I call.

Thats why Im asking whether you had first configured your laptop through the standard M1530 section or not. Cause technically if you did, you shouldnt be able to take advantage of the free 9-cell upgrade.

Ha I have no idea since it was a couple weeks ago. I was just wondering if I could sneak in a switch like TC did. I ordered online and used a 25%

I configured my dell from that "Powerful Savings" section
and I called the regular CSR phone number and they transferred me to
diff. CSR for 3 times and the 3rd CSR that I was having conversation
    was really nice.
So now I'm expecting my XPS to be here by next week :)

So is it abnormal to get a change like this or is there a way I can maneuver a free upgrade as well?

I think they are doing this just because the 6 cells are delayed.

I called and even though I'm in build still he told me that I'd have to cancel and order again.

Ordered 5/22 and still in build. Has to be the 6-cell causing it, cause I know people who have identical systems that ordered after me and have there systems, but got 9-cell bats.

Yeah my ship date is suppose to be next friday but I don't believe it will. I may just bite and reorder since they are quoting me the same ESD as my current one. But my price will increase since I used a 25% when I bought.

Found that the 25% is still around but it looks to be an extra hundred from when I ordered

Just configured a system, upgrading to a 9-cell shaves over 2 weeks off the wait (went from 7/1 to 6/13 ESD). Blue and Pink covers are also slowing things down a week (9 cell bat with Mid Blue back was a 6/20 ESD). So there it is, anyone ordering a non-black or 6-cell bat, or like me, both, is getting hosed by Dell.
