    Hi guys,

I have a Dell XPS m1210 laptop, stupid of me I didn't get the extended warranty and after 13 months (the basic warranty is 12 months!) it was dead. I was wondering if you have encountered the same problem:

The problem started probably as a result of overheating; the laptop hanged when overheated and upon restart it worked fine for about 2-3 minutes and then hanged again. After a few times that this thing happened (I let it cool off) it didn't start up; even the BIOS screen doesn't show up.

I took it to a Chinese repair technician and he fixed it without telling me what he had done to it. After a few days it overheated again and now has the same problem. Sometimes when I try to start it up it shows the BIOS screen; some times it loads the BIOS slowly and sometimes it hangs while trying to load the BIOS; sometimes it boots up only to hang a few minutes later. The diagnostics boot also hangs and when it doesn't, it hangs in the middle of diagnostics process.

The funny part is that when you leave it for a couple of hours and then try to start it up it has a chance of getting past the BIOS loading phase but when it hangs and you try it again, it just shows a blank screen.

Has anyone had the same problem and do you know the solution?
