Seems like Dell finally pulled the plug on the excellent Dell Xps m1530 and the m1330 as they are no longer avaialble on Dell Home USA . Glad I snagged a LED refurb 2 weeks ago for my wife.

ya there pulling all the older santa rose chipset computers. there also pushing all xps towards alienware. the m1730 was replaced with the alienware m17x. the 1530 and 1330 were dieing machines so im kind of glad they were replaced.

*sigh* Time to say goodbye to it being on the US site!...Finally..I suppose... :(..
It was good on the US site, whilst it lasted. At least, you can still find it at the Outlet! ;)

I know that even, with my recent troubles with my XPS 1530, (mainly caused by the On-Site Technician) :(....I still like my 1530.

All those that have had their XPS 1330/1530 since the beginning, and up to this point...you have to admit the XPS line has it great advantages, and yes some disadvantages. But, so does every laptop. Not one lappy' is perfect.

Bon Voyage to the XPS line on the US site!

    Cin...

Say, how long did the computer last? It's been quite a while.

EDIT: The XPS M1330 still lives on! It's still available via the Small Biz site.

Agreed it has been quite a while but nothing that Dell Home offers currently beats the m1330's weight with an LED screen (except the Adamo which has an external drive). The 14z comes close at 4.3 lbs but again it does not have an integrated drive.

Cool, thanks for the small biz tip.

    Well said Cin!
I also am quite happy with my 1530 especially it's light weight (5.8lbs) with an LED screen and the 6 cell battery. Btw just changed the signature after noticing my first post contained my old 1420's info :D

good riddance! dell xps 1530/1330/inspiron 1525 are the worst dell models ever made. no pc maker can build computers that atrocious except
dell consumer division, god forbidden dell will produce laptops like those ever again.

It looks like if you click on the automated links by notebook review such as: Dell Xps m1530 and Dell Xps m1330 you go to an order page by Dell. So I it looks like they are in a facing out stage.

*nomoredell: Words nearly fail me right now.

I sit here and reread your post above. You stated that the Dell XPS 1530/1330/Inspiron 1525 are Dell's *worst models ever made*..yada yada...by Dell's Consumer Division......
..........................Yet, I peer at your User Title... NoMoreDell...and Peek at your Signature...and see A SXPS 1640.. *cough*.. Isn't that made by Dell's Consumer Division, also?

By making such a bold statement, you should support it with evidence and/or personal experience. Otherwise, your statement has no credibility whatsoever.

    Huge Cin *sigh*

Could you back up your statement with facts and examples as to why they were so "atrocious"? There is no such thing as a "flawless" computer line, from Dell or anyone else. My Latitude D630, I love it, yet I know it's not a perfect line of laptops.(9-cell battery issues, issues with the optional nVidia graphics)

I also have an HP desktop that, while my family hated it, many other people had good experiences with.

Now am I saying that the XPS 1530/1330 were flawless? No. They had some quality issues out the gate due to being such a radical design departure for Dell (Paint issues-they discontinued white for this very reason, issues with decals and hinges, etc.) but that only lasted a short time and they've turned out to be very solid laptops (not including the nVidia problem which affected every computer maker, even Apple), undoubtedly because of how long they've been in production. They, along with the "colors" major redo of the Inspiron line back in the summer of 07, also showed people that Dell could bring design and style to their laptop computer lineup.

I Love my 1530 and there isn't a single consumer lappy from Dell now that I would buy. They are all plastic crappers with lame 16:9 screens. I can't stand the look or feel of any of them. They need to put decent gaming GPUs back into their business laptops if they want me to buy another Dell lappy. And there's no way I am going for an overpriced, glowing paperweight-I mean Alienware.

Buh bye XPS... you will be missed. *Preys for absolutely no warranty issues that will require an exchange for a far inferior Studio XPS*

    RIP XPS.

i love my m1330 (despite it's flaws{looks at nVidia}), though I've been looking to build a desktop to suppliment the lack of GPU powers (and my 25% finished GTA IV game :(

i don't think i will ever buy a laptop over $700 again... i see powerful desktop supplimenting a netbook with dual screens at home in my future...

    //hates widescreen and glossy displays...

dell xps not availble directly in Dell EPP either... the laptop list has an "empty" section for the XPS, if clicked will show the Studio XPS. STill available if you click on referral links i.e. the ones found embedded in keywords in thunderball's post (2 posts above)

not that many systems left in dell outlet

still have 3 yr remaining (4 yr for GPU/mobo) warranty and complete care

I'll miss it! The 1530 I had was probably one of my favorite laptops I've ever owned, the keys never got glossy and the machine was really solid. It was pretty thin for the power it packed and looked great. RIP!

Had my m1530 for a year and a half without any problems. Don't like people who generalized a statement specially on the negative way. The m1530 style still beats the new ones that's coming out. The m1330 styling was great too.

Don't give up hope... The M1330 + M1530 went off the dell.co.uk site for like 3 months then mysteriously reappeared recently...

I have hope...that this is the first sign of a new Alienware 15" laptop. The 15" XPS was very tempting when it came out, but not so much recently. The m15x is also showing its age, despite being newer...a similar priced Sager 8662 will outperform the AW. A new high-end 15" will put Dell back in the game.

I was kinda expecting refreshed versions of the XPS series but Dell phased them out for the Studio XPS series. Well, there goes the brand name that existed years ago to be replaced by AW. >.<

I was hoping they would keep selling it at least until Windows 7 was released this way we would all get official Windows 7 drivers on the Dell Support website. Oh well, not a big deal, as I don't expect to have any problems getting the Vista x64 drivers to work on Windows 7 x64. I plan on moving my M1530 over to Windows 7 as soon as it is available on the MSDNAA.

Official Win7 driver support would be nice, but given how they stopped providing driver updates around January/February this year, I can't say I had much hope that the machines would still be selling in October.

Dell has actually done a lot less than most OEMs to prepare their existing machines for Win7... They didn't even fill the advertising spots such as custom laptop icons for devices and features!
