    Hi,

My XPS m1330 with Win 7 RC1 refuses to work on AC power from yesterday. In the last few weeks I had noticed that occasionally the laptop will stop charging the battery and will be running on the remaining battery power even though connected to the AC power outlet. From yesterday it completely stopped recognizing the power from AC adapter. I removed the battery and tried to turn the machine on AC power alone. But the machine will not boot up. The AC adapter shows the blue indicator light however the machine doesnt seem to take the power from it. What could be the problem? Any suggestions?

sounds like your motherboard is about to go out or you will need to call Dell and get new power adapter

My Motherboard was replaced few months ago by Dell since I had the notorious issue with my Nvidia display card. Probably they put a refurbished Mobo.

Thats really sad...!!! my battery has completely ran out and since I am not able to boot it on AC power I cant do any diagnostics. I am now typing from my thinkpad in the office.

Now when I tried plugging it from the office it is recognizing the adapter and is charging the battery as well. Currently the laptop is charging and is on AC power. Is there any test that I should be doing on it right now to detect whether mobo or the adapter thats causing the problem? What adapter I should buy if I have to replace? Thanks for your suggestions.
