When connecting an external monitor on my XPS m1530 and setting both the LCD and CRT monitor on via the FN + F8 toggle keys I noticed that the image on my laptop seems "stretched."

    Is this normal?

Have you tried changing options in the Display Settings or NVIDIA control panel?

Thanks for the replies. I haven't messed with the NVidia setttings only because this is a new laptop and I was just testing out all of the functions. I just wanted to be sure that it was normal for that to happen.

It could also be your display is set on "stretch".
Right click on display, then click Personlize/Desktop Background then make sure the box at lower right hand is checked.
