Is the speed and performance difference between the XPS m1530 between the 1.5ghz and 1.66ghz Core 2 Duo chips negligable?

I plan on running 2GB of RAM and the standard 128MB video card.

I should note that this computer will be primarily used for productivity with a secondary use of email, DVDs and occasional gaming.

Well, I'd say it doesn't make a difference. Especially if you don't game intensive. Check the price of the upgrade too. I know when I bought my XPS M170 Dell wanted me to pay €140 more for a 16Mhz speed increase of the CPU. Not worth it.

    16MHz? I think you mean 1.6GHz.

Anyways, they don't really make much of a difference unless the cache size is different.

Nope. When I bought my XPS M170 could chose from two CPU's. A Pentium M 770 running at 2.13Ghz and a Pentium M 780 running at 2.26 Ghz.

Well, I got it a bit wrong, its a 160Mhz difference. Still, thats a lot of money for a small difference.
