I think it would be nice if we could see if anyone actually got an LG screen by default in theyr m1530 laptop, especially with the wsxga+ resolution (1650x1050).

In the 100+ pages on the subject on this forum I have encountered many people (from 5+ countries) getting some bad screens but just a few (maybe 2) getting the actual lg screen by default and they did not mention the resolution.

So if you got an lg screen in your laptop please post:
    • manufacturer (samsung,lg,chi mei)
    • screen resolution
    • date ordered/date received
    • country,etc...

How do I know what screen I got?!
In Vista go to Computer -> Properties -> Device Manager -> Monitors -> Generic PnP Monitor -> Properties -> Details -> Hardware Id. The value you see will be CMO for Chi Mei, LPL for LG, and SEC for Samsung.

What's the point ? Hasn't this been discussed to death now ? If you have an LG great, if u have a Samsung and you're not happy with it return it or get a refund. End of story.

I'm just trying to see if Dell ever shipped m1530's with the 1650x1050 lg screen directly from the factory!

Read the first post of this thread Alien Code clearly says:

How do I know what screen I got?!
In Vista go to Computer -> Properties -> Device Manager -> Monitors -> Generic PnP Monitor -> Properties -> Details -> Hardware Id. The value you see will be CMO for Chi Mei, LPL for LG, and SEC for Samsung.

They're delivering mine in just under 22 hours and I just hope to god that it's an LG screen. Anyone know how long it'd take to if I had to return it for a new screen? Less than a week? I'm worried because I've ordered the WSXGA+ screen...
