I own a (almost 4yr old) Dell XPS M1730 with a Seagate Momentus 7200.3 320GB 7.2K 2.5-inch SATA Hard Drive and a second empty HDD bay just begging to be filled. I am totally able to do the hardware installation myself.
The questions, as I am always doubting myself on these things, are these:
1. Can essentially ANY 2.5 HDD work in my system of only certain ones?
2. How does one discover what drives ARE compatible if only some are?
Bonus question!
I use Adobe Lightroom 4.1 a LOT, and have 4GB of RAM in my bad boy. Would it be worth upgrading to 6GB if I am looking for better performance while editing photos?
Thanks so much for any help you can be.
