just a quick question to all you XPS'ers. what made you decide to go with an XPS over an alienware? if totally top out an xps the price is VERY near an alienware, and a base model xps is just slightly lower than the alienware..........

    just curious??

Price was #1 (if I was going to spend that much, I'd get an ASUS G-series), but looks also ranks pretty high.

Exactly this. Should have allowed multiple choices :)

I can't picture anyone saying "performance," (or even "options"), haha.

Price. Alienware prices are ridiculous and I'd much rather get an Asus for the same performance, especially now that the M17X doesn't even pack Crossfire.

But I bought neither and went for the XPS 17 for the unreal price with the $700 worth of coupons.

Though price is a concern, Alienwares aren't exactly the most discreet laptop on the market..

well I ordered a XPS 17 for my wife on 3/28.
I might order a M18X for my self when they come out. or maybe another Clevo based board.

I would have definitely gone for the M15x if Dell offered them with the new SB processors. I have over $2400 in this laptop and the graphics card is not up to par in that price range.

    The looks.
Everyone older than 12 would probably be ashamed to be seen with a laptop that looks like the alienware one.
