    I have 3 questions:
    1. When is the launch of Montevina based processors scheduled?
    2. If so, does Dell have plans to release Montevina based m1330s/1530s soon?
    3. If so, would there be any steep rise in the price?

    Thanks in advance :)

    2. I guess it'll happen pretty soon but we won't know when until it happens.
    3. I doubt it...

Intel integrated graphics won't be released for another month. DDR3 prices will contribute to a premium in cost since it is much more costly than DDR2.

True but laptops using nvidia or amd graphics will start to be released come monday. I also wouldn't worry about ddr3 prices as most if not all laptops will be compatible with ddr2 ram.

I see things changing in a couple of months! It should be worth the wait and worth not going for the current 25% discount considering the heatup issues which the 1330 is facing... wat say?

Well, I just bought and returned a m1530 so i also figured that i should wait for the m1530 refresh or the studio 15 refresh before i make my purchase... so yeah I think it's worth the wait, I doubt you'll have to wait a couple months either before getting a good deal on a montevina-equipped laptop.

Well for the most part processors will be faster and more efficient. Wireless n will also be a standard feature of the montevina platform and integrated graphics performance will be improved as well.

And hopefully the graphics cards would be better than the current NVIDIA ones!

Chances are they will start putting newer nvidia 9 series or amd 3 series graphics cards into upcoming laptops... at least i hope they won't be using 8 series nvidia cards anymore...

Might be in the m1530 but I dont see the 9xxx series cards making their way to the m1330.

Why wouldn't the smaller and cooler 9 Series cards make their way into an M1330 revision? Of the two, that's the one that needs smaller and cooler!

If the new 9 series GPUs are gonna be available for the M1330, I'm definitely gonna replace the crappy 8400M GS I currently have.

I guess ya, Dell would get them in the 1330. I believe that HP is all set to churn out the dvxt series lappys with NVIDIA GS/GT 9XXX series... So on second thoughts, I dont see a reason why Dell wont fit them in the 1330.

Anybody think there might be large savings to be had on the current XPS models with 8xxx series cards in them some time soon? Or do they not keep a stock pile of laptops anyway?

Surely they will try and get rid of any left of 8xxx series cards first as best they can? Or is the price already lower than the XPS started at?

Might not if NVIDIA decides to call back their faulty chips! Thrs news that NVIDIA is spending more than $200 million to fix the mess.

They had a pretty big sale a few weeks ago. If their inventories are high, maybe. Otherwise I doubt it. Toward the end of life manufacturers see their highest margins so they are buffering themselves for the lower margins upcoming.

Biggest sale in history of XPS M1530 and M1330 has been the last week of April with the 40% discount. Though right now the 25% discount is very big in and of its own.
