While the touchpad on the new XPS-15 (9530) is fairly decent, the Zoom feature drives me nuts.

When zooming back in, is there anyway for it to zoom to the original point you have your settings at (like on the MacBooks) instead of zooming smaller?

I like to zoom out every now and then, but zooming back in is a PIA because you do not end at the point you started with, it's a guessing game.

Is there a way to set it so it zooms back in to the original starting point?

    Thank you

Try hitting control+0. It works on mine.

I definitely don't think there is a touchpad setting that will let you do it... if there is one it would have to be in whatever app you're using.
