Alright here we go lol... Just recently adopted a XPS-m1330. Well it had both pre-boot password and OS (windows) set. So I forum'd around & ended up using Windows Key Enterprise assuming it'd do the job :( Downloaded it w? my dell & created a boot disk. Now for the fun part, drive is spinning the cd but nothings happening, to be honest it's my 1st Booting up a pc

So I'm not sure if I created the boot disk correctly even though it seemed pretty self reliant! But I thought I'd try something else but lol i CAN'T GET THE CD TO EJECT:/ and of coarse i can't eject it through Windows cause I don't have the password...I'm @ a lost for words & hope someone can help me out...I thought of booting up via usb device yet I'm hearing the m1330 isn't compatible :(

    HELP :)

P.S. I'm using my other dell to download Windows key & of coarse to do this thread...I can't get passed the White screen (password?) @ boot...So more simplified I need to unlock it and even more importantly I need to either get the cd out or have another way to gain access to my newly used dell :)

I am hoping this computer is useless for you - the reason many of us set these passwords is to protect against thieves and it does sound rather as if this machine may have been stolen at some point in it's history. Whether or not that is the case here I would like to believe that BIOS passwords make it not worthwhile to use a machine and hard disk passwords make it not possible to recover data on disk.

(I am not sure how you know about the OS since you can't boot it - I guess you tried the hard disk in another machine)

Well ok you have a couple of problems here:

First off your talking about having a bootlegged version of windows...which if you read about is a big no no in this forum......

So ignoring that part to ACTUALLY help you

You made the CD wrong... It doesn't have the boot part of the program

2nd you SHOULD be able to eject even though your in the user name password screen (at least on mine it ejects)

It's the touch sensitive thing on top of the F10 key.

EDIT::: Get in touch with deal...giving them your Service Tag and telling them that you just bough the lappy they will send you a copy of the OS (might ask for a tiny fee but it'll make it work :) ) Also they can help you with the CD eject thing if what I told you doesn't work
