Hi,
since a few month the hibernate mode and the shutdown of my xps15 9560 are not working. The xps15 reactivates itself immediately after shutting down. Disabeling fast start helps, but I really need the hibernate mode, moreover for the price of the laptop I want a fully working unit.
In the beginning everything was working fine, I think the behaviour startet with an bios update.
Does anybody of you guys know where this behaviour can come from? Latest bios is already installed, I also reseted it to factory defaults a few times - doesn't change anything.
Regards

On my 9550, similar behaviour was triggered by failed auto transition from Sleep to Hibernate after a preset time, after which the laptop would wake up in the bag instead
and subsequently Sleep, Hibernate and soft Shutdown wouldn't work until a hard reset. When not in this state, manual Hibernate would mostly work, but occasionally the laptop would restart instead of waking up, so I tend to use Sleep instead. Worked around the bug by setting "Hibernate after" to Never (0) in Advanced power options of the power profile.
Reflashing BIOS fixed another sleep issue a couple of times for me.
I'm afraid Dell don't have much clue how to solve this problem, and it is likely difficult to debug, I read in some cases they were replacing the MB. There were a few driver updates which claimed improving the reliability of sleep but nothing specific. I guess this doesn't happen to everybody.wranger likes this. -
Thanks for your answer. I found out, that Hyper-V was causing this behaviour in my laptop. After disabeling Hyper-V the Laptop ist working great again.
