    Hello,

I have the GeForce 8600 and wish to update to the new Nvidia drivers that came out that other day on the 23rd..except that Dell does not support anything except their own drivers of their website (which is dated November 2007!).

Is there any way to put these newest drivers on the computer from Nvidia without messing up the laptop?

    Thanks so much.

    laptopvideo2go.com

Read the forums, use the modded nv_disp.inf

(Or download the 174.31 DELL from the M1330 section)

Is the NVIDIA driver 177.41 suggested for 8600M GT? I have a Vista Ultimate X64

i tried to install v177.66 XP 32bit | NVIDIA - OEM from laptop2go but my m1530 wouldnt boot past the window loading screen (no i dont have my video card OC'ed) so i ended up reverting back to Udi version which is 174.31

btw is it really even worth upgrading.. ? lol yes i know benchmark increases but also comes with random bugs

I haven't updated drivers for ages now.... whats the best one to go for, playing Mass Effect at the moment?

Also, is the old Safe Mode -> Driver Cleaner method the best bet with bog standard Vista?

I'm not even sure how to get into Safe Mode on Vista!
