I bought my XPS dated 05/2008 and i do clean install of windows7.

here are the list of my question:
1> how should i know if i have all the drivers for my XPS 1530? NVIDIA i downloaded the latest one in NVIDIA website, not sure what should i do with the other driver.
2> Sound audigy sound blaster, is it worth it to install back?
3> I noticed the wireless signal at the right side, its like typical signal bar, am i missing something?

Btw, After installing windows7 I feel my XPS is like a brand new machine :D

Hey, I found this thread very helpful... M1530 & Windows 7 x64 Thread!

When I did the conversion...Win7 did nearly all my drivers cept for the Vid Driver..Other than that believe I was good to go. I think I left the Audigy Blaster alone. You could DL it if you want. If you don't like it, just uninstall if it. If your getting good sound now... ;)

I like the Wireless Signal strength bar..Being able to look right at it and know the "strength" is pretty cool!

And yes, I also love having it on my 1530...it's like a brand spanking new 1530 :) My performance is soo much betta' than it was with Vista (though, I did like Vista).

Initially when i install Win7 over vista, there was a recommendation that i uninstall the intel pro wireless. Since I do clean install of Win7 i didnt follow to uninstall it since it will be deleted when i do clean install.

Right now i didnt install the Intel Pro Wireless after i install Win7, so i guess my wi-fi driver is a Dell. I got a full bar signal so maybe i'm good for now (?).

Sounds like you're using the supplied Windows 7 driver for the Wi-Fi card, which is ok.

i noticed when i do the SLEEP mode for my laptop, its doing a semi restart (showing the DELL, Restarting Window)....when i'm using VISTA, during SLEEP mode, i just open my laptop and you will see to enter the password, thats it. Now it's showing a lot before showing to enter password. Why is that? because its windows 7 or i need to change some setting?

Btw, i try the HIBERNATE mode and its almost the same as SLEEP mode...showing DELL XPS and "Restarting Windows".
