I have XPS16, which i got about a month back. Everything is working fine.
My Power DVD DX blu ray player was also working fine, then a few days ago I tried to play "Bedtime Stories" and it could not play it, it would hang after playing the preview.
Now whenever I play a blu-ray it hangs after sometime and there is no audio.
DVD's play fine. My laptop's audio is fine.
I uninstalled and reinstalled PowerDVD, even applied all patches but it's not working.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

A similar thing happens to me when I try to watch Ponyo with the XPS 16 Blu-Ray. The trailers play fine but the movie itself does not show.

What exactly do you mean by saying that you can't play a Blu Ray movie? Do you mean the Play Movie button doesn't work? Or does it actually start playing and then hangs up?

I'm not sure how familiar you are with playing Blu Rays on your laptop, but for some reason you can't navigate through a Blu Ray menu by using your mouse - it just doesn't work. You can only do it by using your keyboard. So could this be your problem?

I'd also make sure that all you video/audio drivers are up to date.
