I can't get my XPS 1640 to play CDs. It accepts them, whirs around briefly and then spins them out. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Has this happened before? Are you sure something isn't broken free inside the drive cause blockage? Or worse the drive is failing and can't center the media correctly so it detects a fault and ejects the media?

Yes, this has happened before. I've rarely used the CD player. But I guess it could have been defective or simply a piece of junk to begin with.
