My 1645 has been starting up randomly by itself and keep running until the battery drains out. I have completely shutted down the computer. This is really bad when the laptop is inside my bag, it became an oven. Is is a problem with the power button?

at first I thought you might have enabled a schedule to turn it on in the BIOS, but I just checked, and the SXPS 16 doesn't have the option. a couple of things to check is to verify the system has truly been powered off and not put into standby/sleep mode (I know you say you turned it off, but just double check you're using Windows Shutdown option rather than the power button (which could be configured to sleep rather than power down) or one of the sleep modes). If it is being put into sleep mode then it's possible a software or hardware condition could be waking the system in your backpack or something. There are some other possible causes, it could be picking up some interference from a remote control or RF source that is triggering the built-in RF sensor and powering the unit on, or there is damage to the button/power switch mechanism.

that is one sneaky ghost because my housemate was there once when it turned on. i never seen that myself

Yes i turned it off from start menu. i never use power button to shut down. yeah still waking up. RF source... sometimes it woke up after midnight where everyone asleep. can wlan waking up turned off computer? that means it leaves us with the broken power button?
