How well does the XPS 13 compare to other 13" notebooks with similar specs. Could some of you with them give me your thoughts. Im looking at a HP dv3t but the design is holding me back from buying. My buddy is looking at an XPS 13 with similar specs. Would the SSD be worth the extra money on this? Can the GPU handle games coming out like Diablo3 and Starcraft2? Is the heat issue fixed on this model? How is the battery life? Is there anything else I should recommend or take away from this let?

Any help or tips would be appreciated. He plans on buying next week. I'm still looking but this sleek design looks WAY better than the HP...

More than half those links are just for sales of the laptop. The rest are nothing in particular helpful. Now he is also looking at the Studio 15 for better graphics card and screen. Ha ham trying to get him to buy one so I can toy around with it before I get serious on buying.

    Thanks for help.

I have the XPS 13 identical to yours except I have the SSD. It is BLAZING. I mean - computer is up and running in like 20 seconds (on a bad day). It is FAASSTT. So far, this thing has handled EVERYTHING I could throw at it quite well.

Could you tell me what you have thrown at it program and game wise? Yes, my buddy was looking at the the SSD also. Just need to find some coupons to get the price down.

I have done some moderate-heavy video/photo editing. PhotoShop will slow down a little bit only when I'm rendering some of my larger images (~360mb and poster size things like 40 x 50"). The only gaming I have done is Americas Army on highest settings. Only a hiccup here and there.
