So here is my issue, while idling CPUID HWMonitor says I'm at about 50-55 Celsius which isn't too high for a laptop. I can run plenty of somewhat demanding games like ME 3, Skyrim, Witcher 2, Crysis 2, and throw in any other game you want here. My problem is when i try to run Darksiders 2 my CPU heats up extremely quickly even when I have the resolution set to the smallest setting and in window mode so its almost the size of a PSP screen on my monitor. Then at random points (not even when the temps are over 90 Celsius) my monitor screen turns into Blue and purple squares in odd patterns. This has happened while I'm watching the HWMonitor and its only at around 85 Celsius which has never cause me issues before. I have had games run just fine at almost 100 Celsius which yes is high but hasn't caused me any problems until Darksiders 2. I have played other games after this has started happening in Darksiders 2 but non of the other games have this issue. My GPU is the GT 540m 2gb and barely hits 70 Celsius so I don't think that is the issue either. Sorry the post is so long just figured giving you all the details would be best. Well if anybody has any ideas I would be more then happy to hear them. :) thanks for your responses.

I have to say, I honestly don't know why your CPU would be causing those blue and purple squares across the screen. If you ask me, that would be the GPU causing the blue and purple squares, not the CPU.

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled Darksiders 2 to make sure it isn't a problem with the game itself?

No i haven't tried yet but I will now thanks for the idea ill reply again when i see what happens. :)

Edit: well i cant say that went well CPU was at 83 Celsius giver or take 1 Celsius and my GPU was at 72 Celsius. Then all of a sudden without any lag or anything screen went Green and Black checkered this time not Purple and Blue but it crashed my computer just as fast as before : ( not sure if that helps at all.
