    Hi,

    I have a XPS1530 with a dim screen, looked like the invertor is faulty so I changed it still dim (display is on screen with no back light) I have so far changed;

    Screen
    Inverter
    Cable
    Palm Rest Sensor

    Still to no avail, it is displaying correctly on an external monitor so im assuming the on board graphics is good?

    Has anyone any other ideas before I throw the laptop under a bus?

    Thanks

    was the inverter an orignal part?, and the Screen?

    it is possible the inverter you have is a bad one.

    I've seen units display externally fine and still dim on the LCD, could be a bad GPU still or a bad LVDS connector on the motherboard.

    Inverters could be bad, but after 2, it could still be the screen.
