Dell let me swap for another system

Copper Mod! - Celebrating first anniversary!
-
No mines not new its about 12 months old.
-
also is it possible to change gpu yourself? or is that risky? -
i've had 3 mobo replacements i think or 2, i can't remember b/c they changed other things like the lcd first.
it just died again after updating the bios to turn the fan on constantly, a little a year after the last replacement mobo. i'm tired of this, i want something different and i can't afford a new computer. -
the gpu is soldered into the motherboard, not really an option changing it yourself im afraid
-
yeah i figured it was something more complicated or else people would've done that already
i'm tempted to try modifying the mobo but then im afraid it'd cancel out my warranty -
-
Yay first mobo change 1 month ago lol trying copper mod as soon as I can on my new one any last minute advice?
ps I didnt know dell let you swap for another system -
-
cross finger mine still alive since november 2007.. anyway i bought a hp mini for backup..
-
so does the copper mod just delay the inevitable
do you think dell will extend their warranty longer? sony extended theirs 3 years!! -
they already offered to swap out my unit for a "new" one but i really don't see the point..i'm staying away from anything with nvidia on it, next time i'm getting a lenovo

I am having a 2nd motherboard sent out. I asked to replace the M1330 with the Latitude E4300, and was turned down. Not sure if they would replace it with M1340 either, but that's not a good exchange.
My Nvidia equipped M1330 has been very unreliable. 2 LCD replacements, DVD drive and charger replaced, in addition to the motherboard replacement several months ago. This time they are sending an Intel graphics motherboard. Hope it is better. -
I have had my motherboard replaced twice already, one of the times because of the GPU, and the other time because laptop was totally dead.
Before my GPU failed, I applied the copper mod, but didn't have it installed from the beginning.
My current GPU has had the copper mod from day one, and if it fails during my warranty period (ends March 2010) or the extended GPU warranty period (ends March 2011), I'll see if they replace my whole machine.
Maybe a Vostro 1320 with 9300m gs GPU would be good. If not, I'll insist on an Intel video motherboard. -
