Reseat the RAM. Otherwise send it out for repair.

Well, that really sucks doesn't it. Take it to a repair shop. Unless you have a few spare motherboards, AC adapters, or power sockets handy, this is not a do-it-yourself project.

Unplug AC adapter from M1330 and from AC power source. Detach and reseat power cord into AC adapter. Plug in AC adapter into power source and check the LED on adapter, should be always on, if not something is wrong with the AC adapter or AC power source (wall socket). Try different wall socket.

Remove battery from notebook. Plug in AC adapter into notebook, and confirm that the LED on AC adapter is still on. Press power button and the notebook should power on without battery.

The battery has a test button and series on five LEDs in the corner. Press the test button. If the 1st, 3rd, and 5th LED flash that is battery failure indicator.

If the above doesn't work, call tech support ...

Exact same thing happened to me Monday with my HP. I had to send it back for a new motherboard. Since this was the 3rd time for me, I decided to quit HP and buy a Dell XPS. Do you have decent shipping where you live?

It can't hurt to ask them about an exchange for a XPS 1530 especially if your 1330 is less than 30 days old. At the worst, all they can say is no.

Actually I bought mine on Sept...and there were no M1530 available at that time....so I had to go with M1330...If ur saying u had ur hp replaced 3 times....then I have to go to Dell Direct Country 3 times(as I stay in a diff country)...and each visit is costing me $300.......three visit = new M1530....Anyone with any idea on having luck exchanging M1330 for M1530 + additional money???

well i had similar probs with my 1330, they said its the motherboard, then finally it came up to the processor..asked for a full refund..just for the sake of trying, i asked if they can give me extended warranty and 3GB ram, they were willing to give me the fingerprint reader, 3gb ram, 3years complete cover warranty and 3 years protection against accidental damages :) but i did not take it, had too many replacements already. all the best

Maybe try selling the XPS m1330 and buy a new XPS 1530 instead of paying extra money to Dell, you can try this option!

The answer is YES. If I tap the palm rest the M1330 turns off or on. If I pick it up, same thing. If I do a full shutdown and close the lid it turns back on. I knew, I just knew I should of gone with my intuition to NOT go back to Dell and gone with ASUS.
