It happened yesterday when I was surfing the net......my M1330 went of all of sudden......one moment I was surfing....next moment it went off, just like that....the notebook is not powering up......nothing happens when I press the power button......I tried it on battery as well as on AC plug......ppl pls help me........
-
Reseat the RAM. Otherwise send it out for repair.
-
But Im in place where there is no dell support with in 700 km radius
-
Well, that really sucks doesn't it. Take it to a repair shop. Unless you have a few spare motherboards, AC adapters, or power sockets handy, this is not a do-it-yourself project.
-
Did anyone else suffer the same prb?
-
acuraintegralove Notebook Consultant
do the dell next business day repair through the mail. That's what I have. It seems to be a mobo problem.
-
whats a mobo prb?.....anyway I bought my M1330 frm Singapore...but now Im staying in India....so will dell support in India fix my system?.....dows anyone know that??...
-
Unplug AC adapter from M1330 and from AC power source. Detach and reseat power cord into AC adapter. Plug in AC adapter into power source and check the LED on adapter, should be always on, if not something is wrong with the AC adapter or AC power source (wall socket). Try different wall socket.
Remove battery from notebook. Plug in AC adapter into notebook, and confirm that the LED on AC adapter is still on. Press power button and the notebook should power on without battery.
The battery has a test button and series on five LEDs in the corner. Press the test button. If the 1st, 3rd, and 5th LED flash that is battery failure indicator.
If the above doesn't work, call tech support ... -
-
Tried that too.....but doesnt work.......battery is okay.....charger blue light is on until it is not connected to the notebook.....as soon as I connect it....it goes off........sent message to XPS support.....they replied and said the same thing....just waiting for further support
-
okay talked with dell tech support online...........the prob is with the motherboard....they say its faulty........so that case will they swap the old motherboard with a new one...or giv me a new M1330......does anyone know.......or had experience on changing motherboard??................
-
depending on when you bought it, they'll probably replace the whole system for you..make some backups before you send it....
-
Okay dell online tech said they are going to swap the old motherboard for a new one.....ahmm.........is there any way of convincing dell to exchange M1330 for a M1530........with some additional payment
-
It can't hurt to ask them about an exchange for a XPS 1530 especially if your 1330 is less than 30 days old. At the worst, all they can say is no. -
-
well i had similar probs with my 1330, they said its the motherboard, then finally it came up to the processor..asked for a full refund..just for the sake of trying, i asked if they can give me extended warranty and 3GB ram, they were willing to give me the fingerprint reader, 3gb ram, 3years complete cover warranty and 3 years protection against accidental damages
but i did not take it, had too many replacements already. all the best
-
thanks n20nie for ur replay....anyone else with any I ideas pls,...
-
hey n20nie....did ur M1330 had same syndrome as mine.....I mean nothing watsoever happens when the power button is pressed....and the adapter light goes off when connected to the notebook....
-
no prob rashid, for mine..the adapter light was still there...when i press power on, the caps lock indicator keeps blinking for about 10-20 seconds and goes off...my xps could not boot up...i tried to reseat the RAM and even tried with only one stick...nothing worked...they said the processor's gone....2 month old lappie
-
Maybe try selling the XPS m1330 and buy a new XPS 1530 instead of paying extra money to Dell, you can try this option! -
but you will lose more money...try your luck talking nicely with them first and insist to speak to their superiors...
-
The answer is YES. If I tap the palm rest the M1330 turns off or on. If I pick it up, same thing. If I do a full shutdown and close the lid it turns back on. I knew, I just knew I should of gone with my intuition to NOT go back to Dell and gone with ASUS.
-
Well my ASUS was a piece of crap.
Xps M1330....pls Help!!!
