Is their any chance this monster will come down in price anytime soon? That Dell was wrong to market this machine as a laptop is obvious but I really like the M2010 concept, essentially a portable desktop. If Dell ever drops the price on the M2010 to the $2500-$3000 range I might consider purchasing one. Right now even modest upgrade (like RAM and hard drive space) run the cost of these beasts toward $4000. It's almost impossible to justify that kind of cost. Is it wishful thinking to hope Dell will come to their senses and price and market the M2010 properly?

Its difficult to say if they will bring the price down. However, why not simply consider a different notebook? There are plenty on the market that outperform the M2010, and they cost much less. Notebooks such as the M1710 and other gaming notebooks, by Alienware and Clevo. If not, then have you seen the HP HDX, which is also a 20" notebook, but which features Santa Rosa and a Mobility HD 2600 XT graphics card?

I suspect the market of xps 2010 is very limited. With $2500 I'd get myself a 27" fpw2707 and I still have plenty of money leftover for a nice HD-ready desktop system.
