    Hi

I am current getting downloads of 100 kb per second at home with cable internet, slow but good enough for internet use.

Which wireless card is better for my xps 17?
    Will there be a difference?
    Will the kb increase?

    Thanks

xx30 has bluetooth. Do you already have BT module? If so, get the 6200... The bad thing is it sits under the keyboard on the 17.

Increased speed all depends on your ISP and router. Most half decent wireless cards will get you good download speeds. There are other factors also, your home, distance from the router and all of that.

Also what WLAN card do you have right now?

I currently have the Intel pro wireless 2915abg.
    If I get the Intel© Centrino© Advanced-N 6230, do I need a dual band router?

    thanks

No you do not need a dual band router. But if you want to utilize the dual band you will need to purchase one.
