I currently have a liksys 2.4ghz wireless G router and optimum online cable. And currently my internet seems to be running very slow. I can only get a WiFi connection with my M1530 with Intel WiFi N in the room of my router because my house has plaster walls (and is 5000 sqft). My family usually has multiple 'internet' devices running at the same time. It also takes me forever to download anything. Also when I go online with my PS3 to play say, COD4, MGO or GT5P there is a fair amount of lag. My question is this, should I get a new router? If so what kind? My price limit is $100. Also does my M1530 support a 'Gigabit' connection? Does the PS3? Will a 'Gigabit' router solve my problems vs a non 'Gigabit' router? WHAT THE HELL IS A GIGABIT? Ok I think I have covered all my bases. Any help would be great.

G rated routers usually arent very good with online gaming and multiple connections esp with that kind of interference and area to cover (5k square feet).
In terms of router purchase, i would suggest selling the G router that you own. and try to get a D-Link wireless N router ( http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=530) i highly recommend that one, incredible speeds, i used it in my dorm room, and it easily accommadated 4 roomates downloading movies and playing online games. They go on sale more often now and can fit around your budget and feater 4 lan ports. hope this helps.

You need a wireless N router to take advantage of your wireless N card. Your M1530 does not support a gigabit connection which is wired only so it would not affect your wireless connection. Gigabit is 1000 mbps. Not sure about the PS3 as I don't have one.
