    acceptable GPU temp on 8800gtx?

    just wondering what it should realisticly run at while gaming? when im playing wow i get temps of upto 89c...

    this card has just been replaced also! i think its a tad too hot but i may be wrong??

    hit a rather shocking new high today while running the nvidia gpu stress test screen saver.. 97c!!! fans are working and the heat coming out the back of the laptop is VERY VERY hot!

    I assume you mean the 8800m GTX? Well mine hits around 80-83 degrees depending on game. 85-86 degrees is the highest it should go. 97 degrees is way too high for your 8800m GTX SLI.

    yes it is the 8800m GTX on the m1730! it was replaced 3 days ago too!! all i get from dell is we will repair your system again!

    To me it sounds like they haven´t applied the thermal compound correctly.

    it came as a compleat unit.. dell said its a revised unit that has fixed the orig problems...

    Just complain and ask them to replace or add new thermal compound to the GPU´s, the temps should not exceed 90 degrees celsius, it´s not healthy for the GPU´s.

    I have had my XPS M1730 for over 2 years now and my GPU´s never reaches 90 degrees celsius.

    90c is not unheard of with an 8800m GTX... But still to high for my comfort.
