    are the 8800 gtx cards coming back into stock??

    or is the dell support service just pulling my leg?? laptop is screwed and i have and engineer coming out to me on tuesday to replace the motherboard, heatsink and 8800's.. he said there is a shortage at the moment but they will be in stock by the end of the month!! that also confused me as tuesday is the 23rd :confused:

    what kind of pc if its a 1730 then not that I know of they are using 9800m gtx's

    well i got the m1730 and its has the 8800m gtx's

    what are they likley to replace it with then?

    They're out of stock on all nVidia graphics card at the moment. I believe they're replacing that machine with M17x's.

    tech guy said they will be replacing the gfx card tho o_O guess i will have to see what the tech guy says on tuesday!

    Ask for 9800m GT cards, they are the same.

    from benchmarks they dont preform as well as the 8800gxt (so i have been told anyway) if they cant replace it then im gonna end up with an alienware i guess.. not that i would complain about that!

    9800m GT = 8800m GTX.

    From what I am seeing in the aftermarket, there a good few 9800m GTX cards for the M1730 being sold by resellers. I think they might have a few revisions around, but whether or not this is a full-out inventory capable of solving all M1730 GPU failures is up for debate.

    dell replaced my 8800m gtx sli with 9800m gt sli,then i complained again, they replaced the 9800m gt sli with 9800m gtx sli, although the temp is still the same, im happy with the gtx sli :p

    seems like they are in stock, i was issued a replacement a week ago. I am quite sure they are not getting new ones in, guess they pull those out of all the old m1730s they get back when they hand out replacements. I don't have high hopes for the replacement cards to survive for long.
