I'm trying to decide if I should get a bluetooth or USB mouse with my new XPS M1530. I'm leaning toward a Bluetooth mouse (that won't loose connections frequently) as there is no dongle.
Anybody have experience with a bluetooth mouse on this machine one way or the other?

Doesn't matter. Bluetooth mice tend to cost more though.

I got the bluetooth mouse and really like it. It is nice not to have to worry about another thing to carry around when I take it outside of the house. Also, I got the m1330 which only has two usb ports. So, I didn't want to use one of them to plug the usb for the mouse into.

I ordered an M1330 and I opted not to have Bluetooth on it because I was trying to save money. (I know it's only like $20 bucks lol) Then I started regretting it after I saw some Bluetooth mice such as the Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks in that pretty white color. (long story short, I was going to add that to my order but they said my notebook was almost ready to be shipped and I'd have to cancel it and reorder etc.) But there are also other mice out there that are cordless and the usb adaptor is not so big.
This is a good option. Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
I just ordered this one which has a usb which is really tiny. So small that you could leave it in your notebook without it being inconvenient for your travel cases or whatever. It has good reviews by users as well. Check it out on Amazon or Dell the site. -

I'm using a bluetooth mouse from Microsoft right now, no complaints and extremely convenient.
No worries about ensuring the mouse is pointed in the right direction etc. -

I love my USB mouse and have no plans on changing it any time soon

I've been using the Logitech V270 bluetooth mouse for a year or two now, loved it...but my wife recently bought me the new Microsoft Memory Mouse 800, which works both RF (w/ a huge 1gb memory stick RF dongle), or wired while it's charging, or Bluetooth.
It's got a switch under the battery cover to enable Bluetooth. Once on, the outer power switch just turns it on/off. I'm using mine w/ a Latitude D630, but all these Dell notebooks come w/ the same internal Bluetooth card so it should work w/ the 1530 just fine.
The Microsoft mouse is way nicer than the Logitech V270...for me, it's more ergonomic, buttons are smoother, side-to-side scrolling, it's a full 5 button mouse w/ Intellipoint program specific button assignment (critical for working in many of the apps I use).
Anyway...that's my 2 cents... -
Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 = win.

Buy.com has the Logitech V470 Bluetooth mouse white or blue for $35-$10 (if you use google checkout)= $25 with free shipping! Don't know if its still valid. Ordered one on sunday, came today, but missed the FED EX delivery...
Have to wait till tommorrow.... -
I have used the V270 mouse for a while, but I found that sometimes it would lose the connection.
Also, there was always the "wake up" problem - the first time the mouse was used after a 20 or so minutes of not being used, it took a second or two to reconnect.
I got the VX nano and have never been happier. Besides that it is a far superior mouse in terms of functionality and the the actual design, it uses a dongle that sticks out of the computer approx 1/8 of an inch - negligible.
I would strongly recommend the VX nano. Staples.com for 50 bucks, but just last week they were at 40, so check back soon. -

I really like it. It is small, but not too small. It also has two side buttons and a scroll thingy (very technical, I know) in the middle of the two mouse buttons. It has all the features of a regulat mouse, except that it is smaller, has no wires, and no usb. It's great.
