Try booting with only one stick at a time.

Make sure the memory is seated correctly.

Like the other 2 posts, firstly make sure it is in place properly, and try booting.

If that doesnt work, try booting with a single stick, note results, swap stick and try again. If it only boots with one stick and not the other, one is faulty, try and get a replacement from where ever you purchased it.

If it still doesnt work, try using a different memory slot to ensure one is not damaged

If it STILL doesnt work... then I'm out of ideas!

Yep, I have seen bad sticks of RAM but I usually get a blue screen when it happens. Did you happen to release any static electricity when you touched the memory or the memory bay on the laptop? Try booting with 1 stick in the first bay, none in second. If it boots shut down and move that one to second bay, none in first. Do the same with just the other stick and see what happens. Also try the original RAM to see if it boots up with that in it
