Instructions should be on the Dell site. I believe it's under the bottom cover, yes (I looked into it before I found out on this forum that you can get the 6230 in Canada by ordering on the phone).

Dell traditionally hasn't restricted the cards that can be used, unlike HP/Lenovo. I would suggest being careful of the Intel cards sold on eBay - while there are legit sellers, there are also some selling engineering samples with MAC addresses different from the one on the sticker.

Also, the L502X does not have a separate Bluetooth card. If you have the 1030 now, make sure you replace it with a card that has BT or you'll lose your BT...

very useful info. Newegg has the 6200 that has 2 antenna locations for 30$. I dont need the BT so this might be a nice option. I just got a Linksys E4200 dual band router and want to take advantage of the 5GHZ band.

    thanks

That price sounds maybe a little high. I bought a 6200 for about CAD$24 a few weeks ago for a netbook, and generally speaking stuff is cheaper in the U.S. than here...

get the n 6300... it works in my dell xps m1730 flawlessly with the new software by intel. also the 130 has 3 attenae, so i'm sure the xps 15 l502x does too. the 6300 will extend further and youll get up to 450 mbps speed on the 5 ghz channel. I got the e 4200 linksys cisco router and so far i have gotten up 400mbps and it was quite far away...

If you have the e4200 router and don't need bluetooth, go for the 6300.

just checked dells site. There is only 2 antennas in the XPS 15 L502X , so i guess it makes sence to get the 6200 right ?
