    cant seem to take of my old hdd's password from the bios

    i have a wd 500gb sata drive for the machine in my sig but i replace it with an ssd a while back

    i cant seem to get the password removed from the hard drive so i can use it with my army of external caddies and docks

    any any ideas?

    oh i do know my password as i can still boot into the drive when its in the machine , but for some reason it wont work through the esata port ....

    have you tried re flashing the bios? the PW should be wiped then....

    im pretty sure iv upgraded the bios on this thing since i put the password on it

    i will give that a try but im sure bioses these days are protected from that sort of thing , they tend to save your settings in the bios unless they do a full wipe before flash
