    Hello...

I currently own comcast high speed internet and pay about $50.00 for the service every month but in the next couple of weeks iam looking to buy the XPS1530 labtop from dell.I noticed that sprint is offering the compass 597 USB modem for 60.00 dollars a month with a limitation of 5GM a month with a 2 year agreement.I was wondering if you guys think this is a better deal then useing a regular router with my XPS.Friends told me that sometimes useing routers other people can have access to your information while being online but going wireless with sprint that will be a non-issue.

Overall iam looking for the best deal so any opinions will be greatly appreciated. Adrian

    a) sprint broadband is much slower than ur comcast high speed internet
    b) sprint dont allow any bittorrent or p2p
    c) 5GB a month is smaller for me, i use like 30GB a month .... depends on ur needs
    d) u can secure ur wireless router... peoeple can still hack into ur sprint connection...

any recent wireless router has the option for security.... theorically u wont need wireless-N unless u do a lot of in-network stuff(like transfering files between different computers wirelessly) or need a lot of range... a simple wireless b/g router is fine

of course the plus for wireless broadband is the portability option.... if u dont do much online surfing/p2p/downloading and only have one computer, might be a good option...... also, think that verizon and at&t offer a $120+ rebate for ordering a dell with a wireless broadband card with a $60/month 2 yr commitment, not bad...
