I'm looking to buy a cooling pad and I narrowed it down to either Zalman NC3000 or NZXT Cryo LX. Zalman literally covers the whole laptop. Has huge 220mm fan in the middle. But the down side is that the speed is only 620-720rpm.
NZXT Cyro LX is also an impressive one. Has three 120mm fans at the top and the speed is 1300rpm for each fan. The down side is that the fans are located at the top section, and for studio XPS 16 it only covers where the cpu fan is but not to bottom of the palm rest vent. This one is more expensive.

    Which one do you recommend?

i'd get the NC3000, the 220mm fan will push a lot of air even at those rotations per minute. it doesn't have to spin as fast since the fan is much larger. makes it more quiet too and covers a larger portion of the bottom center of the laptop.

i currently use the NC2000 and i'm pretty happy with it, aside from the left fan no longer working.

cool. is it possible to somehow make the fan's rpm faster over the designed speed?

Zalman NC2000 or the new (and probably over the top) NC3000. They are well made, sleek, and most importantly work really well. I get a 5-12 Celsius difference.

hmm the Enermax Aeolus CP001B isnt that bad either. Its apparently bigger and faster... Zalman NC3000 is 220mm with 620-720rpm. Enermax Aeolus CP001B is 250mm with 650rpm or 850rpm. There is not speed dial for Aeolus though. Only 2 speed. But Im likely to set it high because I play alot of games. Which of these models are preferred?
