Can you get a corei7 with a RGBLED 16 inch? Or they only come with 15.6? If so can i request the RGBLED to come with the core i7?

No, you cannot get the 16" RGBLED with the 1645 (i7) anymore. Dell has pulled this display from this model due to the throttling issues. It is still available for the 1647 (i5) though.

The 15.6 is still a very good display, that's what I initially had. When I got the RGB it looked a little funny, couldn't put my finger on it, turned out that the contrast on the monitor was better than the 15.6 and that the screen would dim gradually and would tint a sort of red then back to normal. I could totally live with a 15.6" screen but knowing that you could still get a RGB is still a temping offer.

I got a i7 620m en route with the 16" rgbled. so yes, yes you can :)

Ps. I dunno about the WLED version but the RGBLED is a wide gamut display and after calibration, especially now in Windows 7 how easy it is to load color profiles, the RGBLED is ridiculously gorgeous. This is my first laptop and it has become "normal" to me. When I look at friends laptops and other people I know, I go EW PUKE. Their screens are so ugly.

RGBLED with proper tuning > any other laptop screen, hands down.

    Cept my 24" 240wfp..but that's another story :)

Yes thats what happened to me too. Dont you read any of my pms or posts? LOL?

these laptops are like legos. You can bolt on any of the options, just for pricing and availability they restrict certain options to certain segments. I couldn't configure it either but he could. I had it before on my 1640 though so I had a case. At first I thought it would be an issue but he came back 15 minutes later with an "Okay, blu-ray combo in".

    :)

The 620m is a dual core 32nm processor so it is more power friendly. The i7 720qm is the quad core processor. You can't get the RGBLED screen with the 720qm or 820qm anymore cause it is a power drain.

I hear the 620m is a very nice processor.

If it doesn't say RGBLED on the description than it's not the RGBLED screen.

    mystycs

if you're like I can take pics comparing the LED to the RGB with my 12.1MP camera. Hopefully you'll be able to see a difference, the replacement is currentlyi n transit and out for delivery today so I might be able to do it later on if you'd like.

I have the I7 620 config mated with the RGB and an SSD and so far I am really impressed...everytime I move to my desktop or the M1530 I think my screens are off LOL!!!I haven't calibrated it ...not sure if I need to ...and quiet...strange...I will never go back to a standard HDD again...as long as I have a NAS with mucho storage ...no need for a large HDD in any lappy I have...I guess waiting 3 mos for the Studio 17 and having to switch is a blessing in disguise....this thing came quick...ordered 3/2 and got it 3/17...been putting it through it's paces ...formatted etc and so far no issues...not yet anyway...cheers!!!

Yes I am aware of the differences, thanks. The question was about i7s and RGBLED. The 620m is an i7.

Yes. As someone else described in the other thread this is how Dell lists its parts:

Premium FHD WLED display = 16" RGBLED 1920x1080
Standard FHD WLED display = 15.6" WLED 1920x1080
    HD+ Widescreen WLED screen = 15.6" WLED 1600x900

    (FHD = Full HD)

No EGM I think you're misinformed. On the build sheet if it says "Premium" then that means its RGBLED. See above. The build sheets never say RGBLED even if you get one. Something to do with Dell's labeling system.
