    dell 1530, loud humming noise, anyone had this problem before?

    Hey everyone

    I had my dell 1530 xps laptop since june and recenty I been hearing a loud humming noise on the right side of the laptop. It sounds like its the hardrive humming loudly but then I put my ear on it and move up near the fan and it seems its making noise there also.

    It comes on randomly, when im surfing the net its fine most of the time, when im running games, the computer starts this loud humming noise on the right side ofthe computer. It can also start doing this when im just surfing the net. And what I noticed also is when the system starts to make the humming noise, the fans kick in atthe same time if its not spinning at the moment.

    My computer has a few months left on its warranty and im going to call in the morning, butI heard horror stories about dell tech service. I think it might be the hardrive. The fan can't make these LOUD humming noises can it? Because I know how the fans sound like when its on full blast and it doesn't sound like a humming noise.


    Any help would be helpful, thanks a bunch

    Ring Dell's tech support. They've seen my laptop twice and both times fixed it quickly and professionally.
