Hi all!
I've owned my xps 15 for a couple of months now and I'm loving it. However I'm not loving the wireless card built into it. I'm a Software engineer and I occasionally I enjoy firing up promiscuous mode and doing some packet sniffing. Breaks things up nicely you know? Anywayyy, I was wondering if anyone had replaced the internal card on the dell xps 15 l502x at all? If so any recommendations for a good card which supports packet sniffing?
Thanks
Richard

I upgraded to an Atheros 9280, in my Dell Precision M4400. I'm not sure if it'll be compatible with the L502x, but I believe it supports promiscuous mode.
I mainly upgraded because I wanted 802.11abgn and dual-band, didn't want to go with Intel or Realtek, and wanted possible support for promiscuous mode even though it wasn't a priority. I keep stumbling upon websites that say it supports it though. -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
In general, any half-height card should be compatible with the L502x; Dell doesn't whitelist WIFI cards unlike HP or Lenovo.
